Chaplain Lidia’s Story

Back in 2000, Chaplain Lidia Jimenez’s life looked much different than it does today. She spent years living on the streets gripped by drug and alcohol addiction. She was in and out of jail.

She felt tired, lost, and without hope.

While incarcerated at Elmwood, tragedy struck her family, and Lidia had her first encounter with a CIC chaplain. Over the next few years, Lidia began her recovery journey and developed a life-transforming relationship with God. She began sharing her story inside of the jail and became a faithful volunteer chaplain. We Today, Lidia shares hope with those inside as a Staff Chaplain on CIC’s team.

This is her story.

*** A very special thank you to the staff at Calvary Church and Marius Milner for filming and editing Lidia’s story.

As jail chaplains, we share hope with individuals incarcerated, walking with them in tragedy and in joy.

But we don’t do this work alone. It’s only possible with the support of donors like you.

Please consider making a gift today to support the transformative work of jail chaplaincy.
