quotation

Every day CIC touches hundred of men, women, boys, and girls in county jails and juvenile facilities. The chaplains are your missionaries to go behind those bars and fences. They go where others fear to go or cannot go, bringing a redemptive message of hope, forgiveness, and Christ's love to angry, frustrated, hurting, rejected people.

Our primary mission is to minister to individual needs and present the "Good News" of the gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will listen. Lives are changed as inmates, young and old, respond to and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.

Correctional Institutions Chaplaincy is a non-profit corporation, founded in 1962. CIC operates in cooperation with the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, Department of Correction, Probation Department, and other government agencies as needed.

Our Board of Directors is comprised of respected community leaders from a wide spectrum of churches and professions, selected to provide organizational direction for CIC in the areas of finance, management, and community relations.

Funding for this ministry including our chaplain's salaries, comes through the financial support of churches, individuals, and Santa Clara County.
